“Distancia” is more than just a song, it's a sensual, emotional, and cultural journey. This genre-blending track brings together the worlds of R&B, Latin Pop, Hip-Hop, Electronic music, and traditional Flamenco, crafting a unique soundscape that captures the heart and rhythm of today’s globalized music culture. Sung in both Spanish and English, the track dives deep into the complexities of romantic and human connection, exploring the magnetic yet painful tension between closeness and separation.

The song is the result of a powerful collaboration between Los Angeles-based music producer Marcus “Bellringer” Bell and Spanish singer Cristina Malakhai. Bell, whose credits include icons such as Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and Timbaland, brings his dynamic expertise to the project. Malakhai, a Barcelona-born artist, music producer, and member of the Latin Grammy Academy, injects the song with fiery emotion and European elegance, having previously charted at #1 on iTunes Spain and performed over 100 shows across Europe and the United States.
The music video for “Distancia”, inspired by René Magritte’s painting The Lovers, has captivated global audiences, earning over 12 awards and nominations at prestigious international film festivals. These include wins at the Independent Short Awards and IndieX Film Fest in Los Angeles, the Portoviejo Film Festival in Ecuador, and Luminous Frames, along with finalist placements at the Venice Film Awards and other top showcases across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe.
