Will Smith is Nominated to an Oscar for Best Actor

Will Smith could win this year his first Oscar.

He received a Best Actor nomination from the Academy Awards on Tuesday, Feb. 8, for his role in “King Richard.” Smith previously received nominations for “Ali” in 2002 and “Pursuit of Happyness” in 2007.

Playing Richard Williams, the father of tennis prodigies Venus and Serena Williams, Smith was hailed for his performance.

What other incredible actors will be competing with him this year? Benedict Cumberbatch for “The Power of the Dog”, Spanish actor Javier Bardem for “Being the Ricardos”; Andrew Garfield, “Tick, Tick...Boom!”; and the incredible Denzel Washington, “The Tragedy of Macbeth”.
