Prince William Makes Social Media Return Following Kate Middleton’s Health Announcement

After a hiatus prompted by Kate Middleton’s cancer diagnosis, Prince William resurfaced on social media to pay tribute to accomplished English athlete Rachel Daly.

Breaking his social media silence since Kate Middleton revealed her cancer diagnosis on March 22, Prince William took to Instagram to honor English footballer Rachel Daly, who is retiring from the women's national team after eight years.

In his first social media post since Kate’s announcement, William shared Daly’s message on his April 10 Instagram Story, expressing gratitude for her contributions to the Lionesses: "Thank you for so many unforgettable performances with @lionesses, @racheldaly3." He further added, "Plenty more goals for Villa now," signing off with a simple "W."

William’s message marks the first activity on the joint Instagram account of the Prince and Princess of Wales since Kate’s health update. In her video, Kate disclosed her cancer diagnosis, following abdominal surgery in January, and the commencement of preventative chemotherapy.

Acknowledging the shock of her diagnosis, Kate emphasized her and William’s efforts to manage the situation privately for their young family, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. She also thanked the public for their support, noting William’s unwavering presence by her side.

While there haven’t been further updates on Kate’s health, Queen Camilla conveyed Kate’s gratitude for the outpouring of support during a public appearance in Shropshire on March 27.
